SCIENCE LABORATORY
Experimentation gives science its identity. Science uses experiments to discover the realities of the world, and this practical approach is as intrinsic to young learners as it is to professional researchers.  Practical science is important for learning, not only because doing experiments is a good way to learn scientific ideas and theories. South Africa needs more scientists, engineers and technicians if our knowledge economy is to flourish, and practical science shows learners at first-hand how scientists and technicians work. It engages learners to follow science further, on an academic or technical level, and gives them practical skills and attitudes that will be valuable in their future careers.

 






Child Academy, having Physical Science only as a theoretical lesson, realized the importance of offering our learners a practical side to the subject. This resulted to the construction of this modern designed laboratory in early 2020, where it was then completed later in that year. The appearance of this lab, as well as it being built in Tembisa, captured the attention of well renowned universities and their Science faculties. Having gained interest in our school, universities such as the University of Witwatersrand, Pretoria, Cape Town and Johannesburg, kind-heatedly opted to assist the school with Science equipment, apparatus’, chemicals and resources. These donations helped the school obtain an equipped laboratory, where we immediately began providing practical lessons, having re-installed the faith in our learners to whom have Science as a subject choice. We are grateful to the universities and sincerely appreciate the support that they have shown Child Academy, the Science department and the learners.

OUR SCHOOL

Child Academy Programmes is an Independent Combined School and a registered Non-Profit Organization. We are situated in Tembisa, Gauteng, where we have committed our efforts in implementing our school vision and mission, within this community through education. The school was built with the strong intention, of providing this community with the same level of education and livelihood to which is provided to children in suburban areas. 

 



To prepare learners for  a successful adult life.

 


Install a culture of learning, which will enable all learners to leave this institution with the relevant knowledge, skills, values and attitude necessary for adult life.

CAP School was officially opened in 1997. The school began as a community crèche, offering Early Childhood Development to the children of Tembisa. Since then, it has expanded its infrastructure, by introducing more Grades, as well as the size of our school property. We now enroll learners from Grade R to Grade 12 with the introduction of our first Grade 12 class in 2022. Learn more

As a non-profit organization school, Child Academy Programmes has created a fundraising campaign and projects on this platform to raise funds for the benefit of our learners and a better education. We would like to provide our learners with the best education and school experience. By doing so, it will be realistically possible for the school to advance and maintain an academic service, that is mostly known to be available at expensive school's.  PRE-FAB CLASSROOMS

Due to the 2020 Covid-19 Pandemic, schools around the country had to adjust to new health protocols, to ensure the safety of their learners, in order for the school to re-open. One of these protocols had been the matter of 'Social Distancing' in classrooms, to which many schools could not maintain due to the large amount of learners already in a class, prior to the pandemic. When the school "shift system" was put into place, Child Academy realized that learners were not academically benefiting from this system, therefore, the school management began planning and constructing these new "temporarily" built prefab classrooms to allow all our learners return to school on a daily basis. We were able to achieve this goal, having to accommodate all learners everyday, whilst keeping to the 'Social distancing' laws that made it mandatory to have less than 20 learners in each classroom per lesson. With that being said, Child Academy became one of a very few schools in Gauteng to have all our learners return to a daily school schedule.

Although these classrooms were intended as a "temporary" solution during the National Lockdown, these beautifully, well structured, durable Prefabricated classrooms, have become a permanent part the growing Child Academy landscape. Designed to control cooling during over heated temperatures, simultaneously absorbing any heat from the sun in cold seasonal weather. They are spacious enough for learners to still maintain social distancing, with wide windows to provide learners and teachers with sufficient light and air circulation. Most importantly, they are a testimonial display of how important Child Academy regards our learners well-being and education no matter the cost. Lastly, we would like to extend our appreciation and regards to all our CAP Parents for the support during the early stages of the National Lockdown. Although the uncertain economical period it was and still is, parents remained faithful and we are grateful for your loyalty, because this would have never been possible without it. #SchoolFeesMatters
